In the blessed and auspicious Nights of Glory, which represent the pinnacle of servitude and devotion to Almighty God, we also honor the memory of the martyrdom of the Commander of the Faithful, Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him). His martyrdom, which occurred on the 21st of the holy month of Ramadan, is a sublime example of sacrifice in the way of God and the defense of the sanctity of Islam and the Quran.
Imam Ali (peace be upon him), through his selfless struggles alongside the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his progeny) and later guiding the Muslim nation towards piety and righteousness, upheld the banner of the pure Muhammadan Islam. His martyrdom at the hands of a deviant and misguided individual dealt a heavy blow to the body of the Muslim nation; however, his pure blood continued to nourish and revive the seedling of true Islam.
In these precious nights, where the virtue of worship is equivalent to a thousand months, we must learn lessons from the martyrdom of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) and his honorable path to strengthen our faith, perseverance, and readiness for sacrifice in the way of truth. The memory of that martyr on the path of truth is a shining light in the hearts of believers, which must always remain alive and flowing.
